Anse à Dinand

Remarkable species and wide-open spaces
Discover the odors and colors of three natural settings typical of the archipelago: the bog, the subarctic meadow and the undergrowth. A complete immersion in the natural environment of the archipelago and one of the most splendid views of Miquelon-Langlade Island, with the possibility of spotting marine mammals from the shore!

Anse à Dinand

Start at the rock located 300 meters before the end of the Anse à Pierre Road. Walk towards Anse à Dinand and go down towards the undergrowth. For the return trip, take the higher elevations of Anse à Pierre, then the Anse à Pierre Road.

Anse à Henry

The Anse à Henry path is very well marked and has amenities (benches) available for your use. The path follows yellow and green markers. At the second stop, stay on the same trail because the other itinerary goes in the direction of Cap au Diable.

Cap au Diable

Start at the parking lot of the Étang Frecker (above the former cold-storage wharf). Follow the Anse à Henry path, then branch off towards the northwest, heading towards the Étang du Cap au Diable. For the return trip, take the Anse à Dinand path (arriving at the end of the Anse à Pierre Road). A second option is possible: after the Étang du Cap au Diable, come back via the Étang du Télégraphe and return to town, to the place known as the “Tournant de l’Anse à Pierre” or to the Étang Thélot parking lot.

Conduites-Vigie-Goëland

Start at the wastewater treatment station. Go up towards the Barrage de la Vigie (dam), go along the Étang de la Vigie (pond) by the south, then Étang du Goéland (pond) and go down towards the dam. Take the road then turn left and you’ll finally get back to the starting point via the “chemin des conduites” (upper road) or by the lower road.

Diamant

Start at the first parking lot at Diamant. Go towards the Pointe du Diamant, then Savoyard Beach, and complete the loop by returning to your starting point. This loop can be done in either direction (you may want to let the direction of the wind dictate where to start).

Discovering nature by sailboat

Become a sailor for a few hours during a tour aboard the Macareux, a 30-foot sailboat that will bring beginners and experienced boaters close to Grand Colombier and other small islands near Saint-Pierre: those who haven't sailed will be jealous!

Discovering the marine environment in a Zodiac

Accompanied by your guide, you’ll sail off to enjoy breathtaking views: puffins nesting along the mossy coastline, the cliffs that witnessed the island’s history, and seals basking in the sun in a small hidden cove. Plan on taking this must-do tour during your visit so that you can enjoy the rich natural heritage and charm of the islands from the ocean.

Discovery of Saint-Pierre on horseback

You can now roaming the natural landscape of Saint-Pierre on horseback. You will follow the path supervised by the local riding club. For all horse enthusiasts, it's an experience you have to live!
Depending on the weather, the rides can be delayed, cancelled or replaced by an activity within the club.

Etang du télégraphe

Start at the lookout on the Anse à Pierre Road and walk to the Étang du Télégraphe (pond). Come back via the Étang du Trépied (pond). You’ll arrive in the parking lot of the Étang Thélot (pond).

Grand Colombier Tour

Bring a pair of binoculars and observe the natural migratory bird reserve on the island of Grand Colombier aboard the vessel Jeune France.

Île aux Marins

Start at the Maison Jézéquel (large gray house near the wharf), take the central path and bear left, going towards the Fort. Then go down towards the Transpacific Shipwreck. Continue on the pebble beach towards the little hill. Go back down towards the central path and continue towards the lighthouse at the other end of the island. From the lighthouse, go to the wash house (gray house), then take the path behind the church and continue on the pebble bank to Petit Havre. Finally, return to the Maison Jézéquel by the main path.

Towards Cap Percé

Board the Jeune France and sail to Cap Percé on Langlade. From the boat, you can admire the beautiful scenery of the island of Miquelon and get a glimpse of deer along the coastline.

Towards Pointe Plate

Tour around the wild coastline of Langlade to observe seals basking in the sun. The incomparable view of the Pointe Plate lighthouse could suffice to complete this tour, but marine mammals might surface, so keep your eyes open!

Vallée des 7 étangs

Land, sea and birds
Walk through the undergrowth of the archipelago and discover the birds that frequent the area. At the end of your walk, enjoy the splendid view of Ile-aux-Marins. A walk that birdwatching enthusiasts won’t want to miss!

Vallée des sept étangs

Start at the Étang Thélot parking lot. Walk towards the entrance to the undergrowth. Go through two clearings known as “Petit-Poêle” and “Grand-Poêle,” then by the path that goes along the Étang du Trépied. Come back by two ponds: Étang du Pied de la Montagne and Étang Thélot.
